About Us

OUR PASTOR
Danny Grisso

Bro. Danny  was born September 21, 1956 in Tripoli, Libya. Not raised up in church, it was only when he was 28 did he receive Christ as his Lord and Savior. Awakened by the spirit one Sunday morning, he found himself at the first church he came to. Full of conviction with no understanding, he returned on Sunday night. Three days later, he asked Jesus into his heart. It was then he was called to the ministry and spent the next 14 years as a youth minister at a sister Baptist Church. Since 2003, he has been preaching the Word at Shady Grove Baptist in Weatherford, Texas.

Sunday School

Sunday School classes start at 10:00 a.m. We have classes available for everyone including: preschool-2nd grade, grades 3-6, grades 7-12, adults and seniors.

Worship Experience

Our worship service consists of congregational singing of hymns selected from the Baptist Hymnal and accompanied by our pianist. Our pastor teaches from the New King James version of the Bible.

Church Family and Fellowship

Our members are very supportive and encouraging as we all experience the love of Christ. Our church is friendly and has accommodations for people of all ages. We love to spend time with our church family and have a variety of events scheduled every month.

Attire

You’ll notice many people who like to dress up for church, and others who prefer to dress more casually. We are not so much focused on the way people dress, but rather that you have come to worship with us and how we can help you get close to God.

What to Expect
OUR BELIEFS

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It services as the final authority in all matters of belief and behavior and is without error. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21

God

We believe there is one and only one living and true God. …The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. …He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. John 14:6 ; 1 Timothy 2:5; John 3:16-18; Acts 4:12

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. …He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. …He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. John 16:12–15

Salvation

The deliverance, by the grace of God, from eternal punishment for sin which is granted to those who accept by faith God’s conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus. Every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ and will spend eternity in heaven.

Acts 4:12, Romans 5:10, John 3:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:9

Baptism

Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. …It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16
